Research support

The major sources of research funding at the Tree Fruit Research and Extension Center are from state and federal appropriations through the various administrative agencies, such as Washington State University and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. A great deal of research support is provided by grants from commissions, foundations, federal agencies and commercial companies. These funds have been exceedingly helpful in providing the professional researchers with technical labor, supplies, equipment and other services. Some grants are used in new research projects while others increase the productivity of existing projects.
