Crevice spiny lizard

Last updated September 29, 2010

The third week in August found me in eastern New Mexico (and adjoining TX and OK). This tame little lizard (S. poinsettii) lives on the wall of the McKittrick Canyon visitors' center in Guadalupe National Park.

The main purpose of the trip was to acquaint myself with the oaks (Quercus) found in eastern New Mexico. The trip was very much a success and I'll soon post some of what I found.
