Phase 4 Grower Evaluation Agreement

Open to all growers in Washington State for evaluating apple varieties developed through WSU

Grower is contracted with WSU Research Foundation (WSURF) as an evaluator

P4 Selection evaluation period: Open 5 years

Growers listed by warehouses as commercial growers are eligible for Evaluation Agreements

P4 Evaluation sign up period: December 1 to March 31 annually for each of the 5 evaluation period years


Qualified Participating Evaluators:

  • Must provide active federal EIN number
  • Must appear as active entity on Washington Apple Commission (WAC) assessment records
  • May plant at up to three sites
  • 1 site, 5 trees = $600*
  • 2 sites, 10 trees = $1,200
  • 3 sites, 15 trees = $1,800

*Evaluation fee is all inclusive:  trees, shipping, handling

 

Steps to qualify and participate,

  1. Send completed forms to WTFRC for approval & verification by WAC
  2. Approved applications forwarded to Willow Drive Nursery (WDN)
  3. Signed forms sent back to WDN with payment
  4. In the event plant material is insufficient, allocation will be pro rata
  5. Technical advice is available from WSUABP, IAC and WTFRC
