Added various organic substances to a low SOM loess. Also inoculated with organisms. Tested the soil with water drop and percolation. Fungi and actinomycetes were more effective than other groups in stabilizing soil against falling water drops. Surface tillage aided water infiltration and was needed where microbes were grown at the surface of the soil.
